A crispy South Indian snack that just crumbles in your mouth with every bite, Tengolal is made with rice flour and urad dal primarily. The name Tengolal literally translates to “flutes of honey”. When you break open the twisted coils of this snack, they are hollow, just like a flute. Hence, the name.
This snack finds its origins in Tamil Nadu and is a highlight in South India during festivals like Diwali and Krishna Jayanthi. In our home, this is one of the most beloved snacks because of the unique taste and texture. Now, you too can enjoy the recipe that we have had in the family for generations.

Ingredients: Rice flour(39.81%),Refined rice bran oil(35.20%), Urad dal flour, Lodizes salt, Cumin seeds and asafoetida.
